Chuckee, Funnel Cake, and Tap Shoes

Daddy loves him some Chuckee Cheese

Yum! Funnel Cake!

Looking for more Funnel Cake

The USO sponsored a free event on Saturday which featured Sesame Street. Great, right? Well, the USO did not foresee the number of Marine families who like "free". So, we waited in line and got turned away. Bummer.

Daddy made up for it when he took us to Chuckee Cheese. Let me tell you, Jacksonville, NC is not what you'd call a high class town. The scenery goes as follows: strip club, pawn shop, gas station, church, strip club, strip club, strip club, pawn shop. However, it has an awesome Chuckee Cheese. It is so new and clean. We had a great time! McKenna danced with Chuckee and Bubby decided he does not like to wear shoes. Very eventful!

On Sunday, we had more fun when we went to Hampstead's Spot Festival. Hampstead is a town about 25 miles south of Sneads Ferry and a Spot is a fish. I asked the locals what a Spot was and they looked at me like I had horns growing out of my head. I explained I was from Ohio, and they understood my stupidity. Anyway, the festival was a good time. McKenna went on the rides and Bubby had a piece of funnel cake. Whoa, did he dig the funnel cake! Strangely, there was not a spot fish in sight. The highlight of the festival was watching the 80+ category of "The Dancing with the Stars" dance competition. It was kind of like watching a car wreck. I was horrified, but I couldn't look away. Those oldies can shake it better than I can!

When we got home from the festival, McKenna had a surprise. Her tap shoes had finally arrived! (She starts dance class next week.) She tried them out after her bath. Enjoy the footage.

Bubby can touch his nose with his tongue. Really. The picture does not do this justice. It is amazing.

Little Mandy

Little Mandy and Patrick Jr.

For all doubters, here is more proof that McKenna is Little Mandy:

McKenna came home from school today and organized her underwear drawer. I mean ORGANIZED it! It looks great. She folds better than me.

She does not get this from me or her dad. My underwear is in a giant knot in my drawer and Patrick's clothes are usually on the floor or scattered around the house. My only conclusion is that she's Little Mandy.

It's a good thing M and Vivian weren't born at the same time or I might think that I got the wrong baby!

Sibling Rivalry

A Glimpse into the Future

Playing School

Bubby and His "Boon"

Here's another scene from "The Life and Times of Sissy and Bubby Knapp"

(McKenna has just come home from school and decides to continue it. However, this time, she's the teacher.)

M: Okay boys and girls, let's sit in our circle. (McKenna starts to take roll.) Carson...Jenna... Johnny... Bubby... Bubby, where are you? (Bubby is busy pulling my checkbook apart. (I still haven't found check #541.) )

B: (Bubby crawls over to where Sissy is sitting.)

M: Okay, sweetheart. You need to sit criss-cross applesauce. Sit Bubby!

B: (Bubby decides to crawl over to where McKenna's snack is.)

M: All right kiddos, raise you hand. Where does the car go to? Bubby, don't eat my Raisinet! ( Bubby has successfully stolen one of McKenna's Rasinets. (I totally freak out, but he swallows it fine and looks for more.))

M: BUBBY! You are a bad boy! Go in time out!

B: (Bubby sits down says, "Boon" and crawls across the room to his balloon. He is totally ignoring his sister now.)

M: Mommy, he never listens to me.

Baby Doll, get used to that!

Great Minds Think Alike!

This is so weird. The day Mandy posted Vivian's pictures from Portrait Innovations, I had made an appointment. I agree with her, they do a fantastic job. The best I've ever had done. Here's a sneak peek.

Help!

Okay, bloggers of the world unite... I have a techie question. My Aunt Carol can not view parts of my blog because my play list covers it. I think this is only happening to her. She has a Mac and I have a PC. Is that the problem? How do I fix it so she can view all of the blog? Help, I look like I know what I'm doing, but I don't.

He is so worth the exhaustion!

Handsome as his Daddy

Here's a list of the newest happenings in Bubbyland:

1.) He is talking up a storm. He now says, "vroom, vroom" when he pushes his cars around. He also says, "Ernie" when he plays with his stuffed Ernie.

2.) He stole a chocolate doughnut off of his Sissy's plate and ate it before Mommy noticed. (I absolutely flipped out until Patrick reminded me that chocolate is only harmful to dogs.)

3.) He stole some Goldfish crackers off of his Sissy's plate and ate it before Mommy noticed. ( I didn't flip about that because his two chompers serve him well.)

4.) He has fallen in love with some hussy at Miss Lisa's. Granted, she's only six weeks old, but she's still not good enough for him.

5.) He can throw a ball.

6.) He can climb the stairs.

7.) He had 105 degree fever on Wednesday.

8.) His eyes have turned a lovely shade of pink thanks to our favorite infection, pink eye.

9.) He is now off the charts for his weight and height.

10.) He has won the hearts of half of Sneads Ferry. Especially the Food Lion regulars.

Another Reason Why I'm Going to Hell

Contemplating Life over Ice Cream

Help! I've wrecked my daughter from all things Christian. She'll probably wind up being some crazy tree hugger. So this is what happened....

McKenna found a puzzle that she got from my Aunt Diane and Uncle Vern for her second birthday. It's a three dimensional puzzle of Noah's Arc. It's so cool. The puzzle actually has slots for animals to go in, two by two. Well anyway, I was watching her put the animals in their places and I thought, "Teachable moment!"

I consider myself a Christian. However, I have not been good about getting my kids to church. So, when McKenna was doing the puzzle; I decided to get out her picture Bible and teach her about Noah. The Noah story went well. She was a little worried about snakes being on the boat because Nammy Jan doesn't like snakes. But overall, she got the story. However, when McKenna found the picture of Jesus on the cross, everything went downhill. Here's some highlights of our conversation.

M: Mommy, who's that?

Me: Jesus.

M: Like Baby Jesus?

Me: Yes.

M: Why's him bleeding?

Me: Because he wanted to help people and some people didn't like it.

M: Oh, Is him mean?

Me: No, he loves everyone no matter what. He's always with us and watches what we do.

M: You mean him watches me go pee?!?!? Him watches me sleep?!?!

Me:Yes.

M: That is so scary Mommy. I like to pee in private and I don't like it when him watch me sleep. Maybe, you should sit with me till I go to sleep.

Man, me and my big mouth.

Go Away, Hanna!

Daddy's Claim to Fame

Nammy and her Grandkids

Cruisin on Base

Poor Nammy Jan. She comes to visit her babies and disaster strikes. First, she braves the lovely airport of Detroit and an airplane the size of her car. Next, she braves the germs of my kids after McKenna came down with Conjunctivitis/Pink-Eye in both eyes. (We had to take her to the Naval hospital last Sunday.) (Note to self: stay away from naval hospitals!) Then, she braves our unwanted pet snake who I not so lovingly call, Mr. Snake. My mother is absolutely terrified of snakes and Mr. Snake decided to make an appearance while she was here. Go figure. Finally, she had to leave a day early because of Hurricane Hanna. Oh well, we had a great time anyway.

We went to the beach and had a blast. We also went to Camp Lejeune so Nammy could seet he base and the new sign at the Main Gate. Patrick's name is actually on it! So cool! My mom totally organized our house and unpacked almost all of our boxes. Our house is actually cute now. I'm counting on Namma Sharlene to come and finish it up.

Anyway, Nammy left today and I am so sad. But, I'm glad she missed Hanna. This Ohio girl does not like hurricanes!
