Little GertieSundays are forever banned from the Knapp household until further notice. Here's why:
About a week before Christmas, I was taking a shower while shooting the breeze with McKenna. Here's an excerpt from our conversation:
M: Mommy, Albert (I changed the name) kissed me today at school.
Me: (I drop the shampoo, grow grey hair, and develop several more wrinkles) What? What do you mean he kissed you? (God, she is my kid)
M: On the cheek.
Me: McKenna, we let our friends hug us, not kiss us. We only let our family kiss us.
M: Okay, Mommy.
Fast Forward to yesterday......
(I picked McKenna up from school and her teacher said "Albert and McKenna are so cute together." "They're quite the little item." I said, "What?" Then, I said, "Let's not tell her Dad." So I question McKenna about Albert on the drive home.)
Me: So why is Albert your friend?
M: He's really nice to me. He shows me how to cough in my sleeve. He wants to marry me.
Me: (I almost drive off of the road in extreme terror. My heart feels like it's not beating. I compose myself) Well, what did you tell him?
M: I told him I was marrying Bubby.
Me: Honey, you can't marry your brother.
M: Well, I can't marry Daddy cuz he's old. I'll marry Jamie.
Me: Honey, Jamie is Mommy's cousin. Plus, he's already married to Debbie and he's older than Daddy.
M: He is ? Are you sure he's older than Daddy? (Sorry Daddy)
Me: Yes.
M: I'll marry Uncle Eric.
Me: He's married to Aunt Mandy. Sweetheart, you don't need to decide who to marry right now. Wait till you are a grown up.
M: All right, I'll decide on Sunday.
On a side note: M went to the Pediatric Opthamologist today. She got her eyes dilated and got these cool glasses. When she put them on, she reminded me of my gram, Gert. Too funny.

OMG Kim I am laughing my A** off it's funny but not if you know what I mean. I can't wait until Patrick hears this one because some time or another it will slip out I bet. McKenna just keeps getting cuter and cuter and I agree with Sharlene we can't keep from kissing her!! Love you
OMG this is hilarious! Well, until it happens to be Vivian discussing kisses from Albert. Anyway, I'm sure Eric will be flattered that McKenna is considering a marriage proposal.

She is very picky. You should feel very flattered. For a while she was only going to marry Jeff Wiggle and Eric from the Little Mermaid. It might be kind of weird to marry your daughter's cousin, though.
Hey....it is not everyday you find the right "Albert" to show you of all things, how to cough in your sleeve. TOOOOOO funny !!!! Ms. Sassy-frass does her Grandma Gert proud. Hope all went well with the eye doc.
