Here's a listing of the most recent Knapp Drama, I swear they need to give us a reality show.
1.) After trying every anitibiotic on the market, including "The Big Daddy" (a.k.a the shot), Bubby still has an ear infection. Since December he has had 5th's Disease, Strep Throat, a constant ear infection, and a febrile seizure. As a result, we saw an ENT Doc yesterday. I soooooo loved him.
2.) Bubby is getting tubes in his ears on April 21st. Hallelujah! However, the 4 minute surgery terrifies me.
3.) Sissy has also had an ear infection since January. I am waiting on the insurance referral to get her into the same ENT. She may also need tubes. This surgery also terrifies me.
4.) I have 5th's Disease. No big deal for me, way big deal for Kane. Fetuses exposed to 5th's disease can be born stillborn (rare), anemic, or with under active red cell function which can lead to heart defects. As a result, I get to see a Maternal Fetal Medicine Specialist on Monday. I am triple terrified. I tested positive on Tuesday, and they got me in within the week. I should know more after the appointment. The good news: A lot of babies who are exposed are born fine.
So that wraps it up. At least my kids are still darling.

I can't believe that I am the first to respond. It might have something to do with the fact that I work third shift and it is 2:30 am (doubt that anyone else that blogs with you is still up). Since I heard all of your news from you on the phone, I have already voiced my concerns and given my words of encouragement so I will just say love you all. . .
Holy cow....that's a lot to digest. Keeping ALL of you in thoughts and prayers. xoxo
That does qualify for drama and a a reality show for real! Hope everyone feels better and we will be thinking about you and your family. BTW, not sure if this helps but I did work with a girl that was exposed to 5ths disease in her first trimester (her daughter had it) and was equally as terrified as you are. Her little boy is a happy healthy 3 year old.
Kelli-
Thanks for the story. It makes me fell better to know some kids don't get it. It gives me hope.
Forget reality TV--this is more like a soap opera. No one person could have all these "issues". I have been racking my brain to come up with a title, maybe "All My Children meets General Hospital" or "As the World Turns Young and Restless." You know we think about you and are concerned about all these things--but we all need a laugh now and then. Love you ll !!!
Hi Kim. I have a friend who has a daughter that was affected by Fifths disease while she was pregnant with her. she is also an L&D nurse. I asked her about it and she said to make sure you get a blood test and ultrasound. I hope everything is fine. My thoughts are with you.
